This sounds like a coincidence to me, either there was previously an issue detecting the battery (dust, residue, moisture, etc.) and this was resolved by taking it out and then back in a couple of times, or it was a software glitch for example. I'd recommend contacting support though since this is a Professional camera, better safe than sorry in my opinion. And stay safe ^^

Hi,
I have an HVR-Z5E and 2 batteries that I bought with the camera several years ago (an F950 and an F950) both of which have been working perfectly up until the other day. The F950 is still working fine and both are charging fully but the F970 is suddenly being reported by the camera as

Now this is really weird. I was just about to type the error message and I couldn't remember the exact wording, so I put the battery back on the camera and the error message didn't come up - so it's working again!?!? What the heck is going on?

Welcome to the community.

I'll just see if I can find any help regarding this. In the meantime though, maybe another community member might have some ideas.

Thanks,
