Hi xtzanos, welcome to the Sony Forums

This sounds like some kind of head alignment problem. I believe the camera records using a different head, so while the record head is ok and you can see what you're filming, your playback head may have moved out of position due to a jolt or some other mishap.

There's a very small possibility that the playback heads are just dirty, in which case a tape head cleaner might do the trick, but if you have no luck with that the only solution would be a service centre repair.

The Sony customer service guys will be able to advise as to cost and viablity: see this post for details.

Hope it works out.

Mick

Hi there

I have a trv820 camera and it seems that suddenly it cannot playback any tape.
All i can see on the lcd is a blue screen with the triangle (the play sign), although the tape is running.
If i connect the camera to a tv again all i can see is a blue screen.
When i record the screen seems to works fine.

What i have tried so far is taking off all the bateries for 10 minutes and afterwards recording a 15 minutes video, but nothing changed.

Any ideas
