Hello

i have a Sony A7R111 I’m reading many articles about the weather sealing on this camera. Can anyone confirm if they’ve experienced problems with weather sealing on this camera. For example should I be taken extra precautions when shooting in the rain. I also enjoy shooting butterfly houses with extreme humility should I be thinking twice about using my camera in these conditions. Is the mark 4 any better? I’d appreciate anyone’s comments.

Hi helenmsugrue,

The camera is protected against dust and moisture, but not completely protected against dust and splash water. It has no IP classification and therefore can only withstand adverse conditions for a short time.

Therefore, in both cases I would recommend a protective housing that protects the camera from tropical humidity and rain. This also applies to the Mark 4 version.
