Neither my iPad, iMac or iPhone see my A7Riii when it’s put into Bluetooth pairing mode.

Looks like Bluetooth connection just doesn’t work for me at all.

What is the advantage of Bluetooth connection? Only GPS location info?

I've connected several cameras successfully, the trick is to follow the instructions in the Sony help guide exactly as written (except that Playmemories is now Imaging Edge)- I've learned from hard experience!

Bluetooth connection to a smart phone can embed GPS location info in the image and keep the clock right. There is also a separate BT Remote control.
