Sony A350 DSLR Win 10 issue

Hi, im running windows 10, i do not have access to a CF card reader at all, when i connect my camera to my usb ports, it will not connect to the computer, initialisation issue, it just tells me to format the card. However, if i connect the camera via cable to my brothers mac running Catalina, it reads the camera no problem and allows me to drag off the pictures. Is this a win 10 issue with Sony cameras?, the computer recognises the camera as a Sony a350, ive also tried 2 different cables and its the same. Is their a way around this without a card reader??
