Pop Up Flash an Irritant when Using Wireless Flash....Please Help !!

Hi,

First timer by the way, so go easy on me.......

I have purchased after a long an inspiring partnership with an A100, of which is now a proud "back up".....a Alpha A580.

I was hoping, and still do hold out for some help....that the Wireless Flash feature would work without the pop up flash destroying my picture.

However i find even now, the A580 fires the pop up flash when using my HVL-F42AM wirelessly and completely destroys the effect of having light from a different angle !

Can u help me with my frustration please, and suggest a way, other than a piece of card or my hand to stop the pop up flash firing....?

you should be able to set the ratio so that the onboard flash does not contribute to exposure, are you using ttl or manual flash settings?
