Does anyone what to chat about CES 2015?

What are your likes/dislikes?

One thing that has come about this year (so far) is the forming of the UHD Alliance. An alliance of companies, all working together (hopefully) in regards the standardisation of UHD Displays and Content alike.

One of the UHD Alliance's goals is to create clear labelling so that consumers understand what they're getting when they buy a UHD capable product. This will, no doubt, put to an end the confusing approach of brands currently who often refer to 4K or UHD, or even both, when marketing their TVs.

Hyunsuk Kim, President, Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics said "“The Alliance will encourage the development of high-quality UHD content while distinguishing TVs that provide the most premium UHD viewing experience.”

Rob Sanders, President at Warner Bros. added that: "These technologies allow us to utilise a much broader palette to tell our stories while providing viewers with true-to-life colours, superior contrast and premium picture quality. Working with a wide industry consortium is the best way to deliver these experiences within premium entertainment."
