My Xperia Z Ultra got problems. Suddenly it will delete letters that I typed and it automatically run multiple applications. Must restart to get back normal.
Firmware up to date.

Does this happen with all apps or just an app? which build number do you have ?

Settings > about phone

Update Service (SUS)

PC Companion (PCC)

Bridge (for Mac)

It happened with all apps like during YouTube playback, surf Web at chrome. Built no.141B1531.

Hi,

Just a second opinion that may be due to Z Ultra screen is very sensitive. Accessive oil or water on the screen will make it crazy.

Try cleaning the screen.

If screen problem, then after restart phone, problems should still there. But it doesn't. Problem return after awhile.

The current latest firmware is B.2.257.

I suggest you to do a REPAIR using sony PC Companion. Recommend as it is fresh install that will erase data.

or update the firmware and try again.

To update firmware can use any of the method below:-

1) Sony update service (SUS): http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/update-service/

2) Sony PC Companion : http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/

3) Over the air (OTA) - Sometime reboot device will work or clear data at app->all->update service may work.

OTA seems like not working. Just update via PC companion.

Hi, it is possible they schedule to allow update at difference times to avoid traffic.
Work around by clear the data of the update services to cause it refresh the status. If you lucky it will ask you to update immediately. Rebooting also may help.
Using pc is best solution.

Tried cleaning the screen. Have yet to add a protective screen.

Tried updating the OS to the latest version. The problem still persists. The phone goes nuts all of a sudden. Opens Claculator, Messaging app, 3rd party apps that are not even present on the home screen.

Sony, please do something about this.
