Hello,

This morning my phone said that I should update the system. So I did, it said that it would take 14 minutes to complete the update. After a few minutes I saw a dead android laying with a red triangle above it. And whenever I try to put the phone back on, I get the same thing on the screen. I can't use my phone right now, I can't do anything with it.

What's the problem and what should I do?

Removing the battery doesn't help. The phone only turns on when I hold the on/off-button for several seconds.

I'm trying the hard reset by update software with Sony PC Companion. It takes a while, and it's still busy with that, but it finds the phone. The only problem is that you will lose your contacts and image/videos and everythingg that's on the phone's internal memory.

I agree, hopefully someone will come up with a solution. This hard reset by update software on Sony PC Companion takes ages to complete, because I have a slow internet connection here.

Try performing a system repair as this will often fix issues after an upgrade - This will factory reset your phone

Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the onscreen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process

If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

The exact same thing happened to me, that dead android symbol pops up every time i try and press a button. now my phone wont turn on. i had to update it because all my apps were getting slow and malfunctioning. i really dont want to factory reset as all my important pictures and videos are on it and i never got a chance to transfer all of them to sd card. i havent even had the phone a year! i tried the power button and volume button thing but nothing happened after a few seconds the screen went black.now every 15 minutes the symbol flashes again. how do i get it back to how it originally was without factory resetting? someone please answer urgently! its the same update and everything.
