Xperia M interupted update problem

I have a Sony Xperia M (C1905) and recently left it updating from my laptop but unfortunately my laptop decided to shut down to do an automatic update while I was gone. It will no longer function ... I can turn it on and the Sony logo appears but then I'm just left with a backlit black screen and I can't turn it off again ... the only way I can restart it is by removing the battery. Lots of help needed ... Thanks

I'm sorry to hear that the update failed on your Xperia M. I suggest that you perform a software repair on your unit via PC Companion. You can find PCC att the following link:
http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/pc-companion/

In PC Companion you press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Repair phone/tablet (the blue clickable link in the message) > Follow these steps without having your device connected to the PC.

Follow the instruction that appears in the program and do not connect your device until this guide tells you how to connect it.

my current jelly is jelly is 4.1.2 build number 15.1.c.2.8 and when i go to software update >system> says your device has the latest available system update but i need 4.3 jelly new update one what i have to do ..to get new one i dont have any compuer or laptop ...

so can't update from computer

how to update new jelly 4.3 from mobile

first of all goto settings>apps>all> update center clear data restart phone and goto the app update center refresh it check if any update comes in, if not then have to do only with pc companion or sus, also note that update is region specific it might be might not be realeased and approved yet through ur operator. keep us updated

and there is one more Problem after replacing battery while charging the phone sony logo appered continously. even i re insert the battery.. so please tell what to do? is it normal or it's an problem?

I have the same issue, The Sony logo then the baclit screen only. The repair states that all files on the phone will be lost,can any of them be saved before this software repair is applied? I did not expect to lose everything from a Sony update, is it a fault with the download causing this issue?

Hi Mavryk,

If the phone won't power on correctly, you will not be able to back up any data. It's always recommended to back up the data before you perform a software update since the update can fail if the computer dies for example.

i have the same problem, but couldn't find the start support tab on the pc companion,

I don't have computer at home my problem is same as in Hathaway it is showing Sony logo a long time after update

I'm sorry to hear that, I got your message, you need to borrow a computer or contact your Local support to get it to boot again.
