Lost ringtones preview

Dear friends,

during a bad cleaning operation I cancelled the ringtones preview and now I can't choose any ringtone by earing its preview.

May you help me, without making a total restore of the ringstone?

Yes, go to settings-apps-all,tap on 3 dots and reset app preferences.

When I want to change ringtone I go to the list of all sounds and I choose one of then.

Till yesterday after the choice I heard the new sound and I fixed it.

Now I can fix the sound, but I don't hear it.

Are you sure the steps provided by me didn't help? What if you go to sound picker and clear defaults?

Hi @dragoverde,

After you reset the app preferences and went back to choose a ringtone you should have been asked which app you wanted to complete the action with. Did you choose the one called Sound Picker here, or did you choose another one?

Only now I answer to both, because I have some time to spend for my smartphone only in the evening/night.

So, as Christofer wrote, I made all these steps and I choose the Sound Picker (in italian is called "Selezione Suono" with an icon similar to a musical note; isn't it?). Other options, that I didn't use, were ES File Explorer, File Commander and Media Storage.

In addition and answering also to "alexdon" I can say thet when I reset preferences it didn't seem that something was happened. Is it right?

That should reset your app choice for opening some file formats. But it is strange.

Can you check if the same occurs in safe mode?

Now it's going to be late for me, but tomorrow I'll try to make what you suggest.

For using the safe mode how have I to proceed?

In this condition will I lose my data as per factory reset?

No data is lost in safe mode. Just 3rd party apps are not loaded.

Yesterday evening I was confused by what is happened in Paris.

Now I've just tried to restart in safe mode (looking at the link you suggested) but I was not able. Could be correct to install this app"Boot Smart" and try again?

No, it should be default. Tap longer on turn off, you should get a popup to reboot in safe mode.

Ehm, sorry. Now I am in safe mode, but I don't hear any preview sound. If I choose another sound, without listening its preview, at the end sound changes, but it's not easy to change ringtones without knowning which is the sound.

You are right. My English is not so good.

I try again to explain the problem.

If I want to change the ringtone of the phone I go to the list of all ringtones and I choose one of them, but I don't listen any sound.

The smartphone ugually changes the ringtone and obtain the new one, but it's not easy to work in this way.

I hope that now you could understand better and I wait for any your suggestion on next week.

Ok, this should be available using sound picker. You can listen to a song you want as ringtone if you have raised media volume, after you tap on it it should play.

Solved!!!

I went to the music player and I select the directory where sounds are collected.

There I found that media volume was off and I raised it. Now it works very well!
