TV Guide for UK not working

I live in Ireland and the TV Guide works fine for the Irish station's but won't work for the UK station's is there anything I can do? My tv is a 49XG8196. Any help would be appreciated thank you!!

I could on free to air box never had a free to air TV

In principle, it shouldn’t be any different then, as long as you are within range of the UK transmitters.

But I have heard tell of tunable devices that when used in Eire, specifically reject UK channels, and it may be that this TV has been set to do this.

Does your set have any other letters or numbers after 49XG8196, such as BU?

Lets see if anybody who is in your position, and who therefore knows, comes and posts here.

A Google search for your issue reveals:-

So it looks like the YouView side won’t play ball, but the Freeview side will.

After which, if you want to go back to the YouView side, skip the retuning and the UK channels will come across OK.

Couldn't make it up, could you?

Hi really sorry about this, this is all new to me, if I disabled youview that will allow the guide to work?

I believe it will, yes.

It will also allow you, should you be so inclined, to record from the TV, and to watch the Now & Next satellite channels, if you have a dish handy.

But it will rob you of the itv Hub, and All4.
